EcoPathways is rooted in the Laciana Valley and brings together people working across culture, science, music and rural knowledge.
Our aim is simple: to understand, strengthen and share the relationships that keep a living culture alive.

The Branches of EcoPathways
EcoPathways is sustained by many branches—people who bring culture, science, and community to life. Together, they keep the valley’s tree growing strong for future generations.

Thomas Lorenzo
Founder · Musician & Educator
Thomas founded EcoPathways to connect culture, creativity and place. Through music, storytelling and lived experience, he helps translate the valley’s relationships into contemporary ways of understanding and participating.

Juan M. Lorenzo
Scientist · Professor of Geology & Geophysics, LSU
Juan lends scientific roots to EcoPathways. With NASA-supported research in seismology and soil systems, he integrates pragmatic science with deep ecological wisdom, ensuring culture, nature, and knowledge grow in balance.

Ovidio García Fernández
Toponymist & Cultural Custodian
From Matalavilla, Ovidio preserves the valley’s memory through its place names and stories, awarded the Concha de Lama prize. With a background in engineering, conservation, and environmental impact, he blends practical knowledge with deep-rooted tradition—one branch of EcoPathways’ living tree.
